Our international students celebrate the New Year of the Dragon


On February 9, the International Cultural Exchange Center of our school was in a happy and festive atmosphere. The teachers and staff of the Han University and nearly 70 international students from more than 20 countries gathered together to celebrate the Spring Festival. Chen Zijiao, president of Han University, expressed New Year wishes to international students on behalf of the college, and sent a message that everyone should be happy in the New Year and have a bright future





The song "Happy New Year" by Shi Shi Yu, a Sudanese student, kicked off the celebration, and the Russian student Rahat also sang the cheerful Russian song "Summer Rain" for everyone. In the game session, the students not only understood the history of the pot game, but also experienced a strong festive atmosphere in the game. In the game of "You say I guess", the international students explained Chinese words to their friends in fluent and pure Chinese. When the answers of "dragon", "Spring couplets", "Tangyuan" and "Jiaozi" were guessed one by one, the scene broke out in bursts of warm applause, and everyone better understood the Chinese custom culture in the laughter.


"The sound of firecrackers in one year, the spring breeze into the warmth of Tu Su", when 900 years ago a "Yuan Day" was recited at the event site, the students also seemed to cross time and space, and the ancient dialogue, deeply realized the charm of Chinese ancient poetry and folk heritage. Under the guidance of the pastry masters and teachers from the International Cultural Exchange Center, the students made dumplings together. Round dumplings symbolizing reunion, Chinese dishes with traditional characteristics, and international students make up a special table of "New Year's Eve dinner".


To celebrate the Spring Festival together in the school, everyone has expressed very happy and very touched. This activity not only let the international students experience the beauty of Chinese culture, but also in-depth understanding of the traditional customs of the Chinese Spring Festival, and let the students in a foreign country feel the warmth of "home".
