Ambassador Wang wangsheng, a senior professor of Arabic at the School of Asian-African Languages, gave a special lecture
On the evening of December 9th, the School of Asian-African Languagesinvited Ambassador Wang wangsheng, a senior professor of Arabic language, to give a special lecture entitled "Embassies (Consulates) Abroad and China-Arab Relations" for all students. Ding Yang, Dean of the School of Asian-African Languagespresided over this lecture, and all students of the School of Asian-African Languages presented in this lecture.
First, Ambassador Wang Wangsheng introduced to the students the specific functions and main responsibilities of the embassy and consulate. In addition, he gave a detailed introduction to the ambassador’s work responsibilities. By sharing the daily work of diplomacy and foreign affairs, he showed the students a rich and colorful life as a diplomat.
Afterwards, Ambassador Wang Wangsheng reviewed the diplomatic history of our country and Arab countries, and clarified to the students the principles and positions that our country has adhered to in the long-term cooperation with Arab countries: 1. China firmly supports the national liberation movement of Arab countries and firmly supports the defense of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Arab countries, and their fighting for and safeguarding of national rights and interests, and opposing of foreign interference and aggression.
2. Firmly support Arab countries in developing their national economy and building a modern country. 3. The Arab countries have given China strong support in restoring China's legitimate seat in the United Nations and safeguarding national unity. 4. China and the Arab States support political settlement of the heated issues in the Middle East and promote peace and stability in the Middle East.
In the end, Ambassador Wang Wangsheng answered the questions by the students, and the students responded with warm applause to Ambassador Wang’s perfect answers.
Through the explanation by Ambassador Wang wangsheng, all the students not only have a deeper understanding of the work of diplomats, but also have a better understanding of the history of China-Arab diplomacy and China-Arab cooperation.
