On the morning of Dec. 26, the Principal Delegation of six people from the Confucius Institute of Okayama Shoka University visited Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DLUFL). President Sun Yuhua met all the delegates, and the staff from the Work Department of Confucius Institute, the School of Japanese Studies, and the School of Chinese Studies also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, President Sun Yuhua first expressed warm welcome to the delegation and gave sincere thanks for all the concern about and support for the Confucius Institute from high schools in Okayama. She also introduced to the delegation the internationalized school-running characteristics of the university, the teaching of Japanese and that of Chinese as a Foreign Language as well as the construction of the overseas Confucius Institutes of the university. In addition, she hoped that this visit to Dalian would leave a good impression on the delegation. She also welcomed senior high school students from Okayama to study at the university through the platform of the Confucius Institute.
After introducing each delegate, Okamoto Kiyoshi, leader of the delegation and director of the Confucius Institute at Okayama Shoka University, expressed sincere thanks to President Sun Yuhua and the university staff for their favorable reception on behalf of the Principal Delegation. He also pointed out that Okayama Shoka University has formed a long-term partnership with DLUFL, and that this visit was another exchange program through the platform of the Confucius Institute, aiming at expanding areas of cooperation and promoting friendly relations between these two universities. He said that the principals from high schools in Okayama also expected to have a deep understanding of China and establish close contact with DLUFL through this visit.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the library, the School of Chinese Studies and the School of Japanese Studies and highly praised the beautiful campus environment and first-rate teaching facilities here.
The visiting program of this Delegation was sponsored by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) and organized by Okayama Shoka University and DLUFL. After visiting us, the delegation would conduct a five-day culture exchange activity in downtown Dalian and Lvshun, visiting Dalian No. 36 Middle School and Dalian MTK Precision Co., Ltd.
