From Aug. 17-20, the Fifth Symposium on Russian Literature and Art was held at DUFL. The opening ceremony was hosted by Vice President Liu Hong. President Sun Yuhua of DUFL and Professor Xia Zhongxian, Chief Editor of Russian Literature and Art, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches afterwards.
The symposium aimed at promoting the research on Russian culture, literature and art, especially on topics such as Nobel Prize in Literature and Russian Literature. This symposium was jointly chaired by Professor Peng Wenzhao from Department of Russian and Eurasian Studies and Professor Xie Chunyan from Harbin Institute of Technology.
During the symposium, Professor. Geng Youzhuang and other scholars delivered keynote speeches and some 40 experts and scholars from domestic universities and institutes conducted in-depth and broad discussions about the topics. This symposium was featured by Researcher Wu Xiaodu as obvious discussions in different fields, rich advanced issues, and unchanged significance of methodology exploration.
Professor Xia Zhongxian delivered a speech at the closing ceremony. This symposium not only successfully promoted the communication among domestic scholars and researchers in the field of Russian culture and literature, but also further advanced the development of domestic research on Russian literature.
