From May 18 to 19, President Liu Hong attended the Global Foreign Language Studies Alliance Presidents’ Forum & Regional and Global Management sponsored by Beijing Foreign Studies University. The greatest achievement of this forum was that Global Foreign Studies University Alliance was set up with 30 universities from 16 countries. President Liu signed the Global Foreign Studies University Alliance Cooperation Agreement.

On the evening of May 18, the first members of Global Foreign Studies University Alliance held preparatory meetings. After discussions and negotiations, they all agreed to set up a board of directors, with President Peng Long elected as the director general and all member university presidents in the board.

On the morning of May 19, Global Foreign Studies University Alliance Presidents Forum officially opened. President Peng, Vice Minister of Education Tian Xuejun, Party Secretary of Renmin University of China Jin Nuo and principal of Moscow National Linguistic University Irina Kraeva delivered speeches respectively. The first groups of member universities include 14 domestic foreign language universities and 16 foreign universities.

The Alliance builds up a major international cooperation platform for DUFL to continuously carry forward talent cultivation, scientific research, cultural communication and community services. During the forum, President Liu held talks with the Presidents of Ukraine Kyiv National Language University, Azerbaijan Language University, paving the way for future cooperation with more and more alliance members.
