President Liu Hong Meets with Dr. Kent from the US
On October 16th, President Liu Hong met with Dr. Greg Kent, Dean of the Business School of Montclair State University. Present at the meeting were representativesfrom theInternationalExchange andCooperation Office,School of English Studies,School ofInternational business andSchool ofEconomics andManagement.
During the meeting, President Liu warmly welcomed the US delegation headed byMr.Kent and she thanked him for his brilliant speech at theInternationalEducationExchangeWeek. She said that the cooperation between our twouniversities has a long history, and the two sides have achieved fruitful results. Over the past ten years, the project has involved more than 800 Chinese students for internship in the US. In 2012, the Disney internship program won the state approval to be establishedas a national practice base, and was highly recognized by the Ministry ofEducation. At the same time, President Liu proposed that the two sides should expand the exchange program so that the American students could make full use of the existing language and cultural resources such as the Chinese culture experience room and other teaching resources. In addition, we can also explore new forms of cooperation, such as scientific research, teacher exchange and administrative personnel exchange, and learn from each other in cultivating international talents.
Dr.Kent expressed sincere thanks for the warm reception. He said that the Disney internship cooperation program between the two universities has set a good example in the cultural exchange. This project will not only help to improve the language foundation of students in practice, but also to expand the vision of students. In addition, Kent also expressed willingness to cooperate with the DUFL in scientific research and exchange of graduate students.
Both parties agreed that regular meetings will help to enhance the understanding of each other and further promote the integration of eastern andwestern cultures.
