Famous martial artist Meng Qingfeng Visited the Confucius Institute at the University of Brasilia

Onthe evening ofNovember 20th local time, Meng Qingfeng, a world famous martial artist, was invited to the Confucius Institute at the University of Brasilia. He is the founder and director of American Wing ChunMuseumandthe ninth-generation leading figure of Wing Chun, a concept-based traditional Southern Chinese Kung Fu style. He gave a lecture with the theme of “Chan and Wing Chun”, attracting many amateurs of KungFu in Brasilia.

Meng Qingfeng introduced the influence of “the unity of man and nature” on Wing Chun, as well as the origin, development and inheritanceof ShaolinWing Chun. He also shared the philosophical connotation of Kung Fu and ways toconduct. Meng further extended thehighest stateof Kung Fu with the Buddhist “emptiness” worldview in a clear and simplemanner,which caught much attention. Later, he presentedthehonorable award to peoplewhoinherited and promoted Kong Fu culture in Brazil, represented by Wang Lijuan, dean of ConfuciusInstitute at the University of Brasilia.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Brasilia held this cultural lecture together with the Association of Brasilia Wing Chun Martial Arts. It is a rare opportunity for Brasilia Kung Fu lovers to know more about China.Many studentsdesireto learn more about Chinese Kung Fu. This lecture not only provided a platform for Brazilian Kung Fu lovers toclosely communicate with the famous martial artist, but alsoencouraged the Confucius Institute at the University of Brasilia to further promote Chinese Kung Fu culture.
