Recently,DUFL-PLAUFL Seminaron Multilingual Corpus and Knowledge Management andProposalReport Meeting of National Social Science Fund Project was held atthe Irish Research Center.The event was sponsored by the School of English Studies and DUFL Linguistic Research Base and co-organized bythe editorialoffice ofForeign Languages Teaching and Foreign Language and the editorialoffice of the Journal of the PLA Foreign Languages Institute.Professor Yi Mianzhu, Professor Chen Yong, Dr. Yuan Wei from Information Engineering University(Luoyang People's Liberation ArmyUniversity of Foreign Languages), Professor Lei Lei from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Professor Deng Yaochen from the English Academy made keynote speeches. The seminar was presided by Professor Zhao Yongqing, the editor-in-chief ofForeign Languages Teaching and Foreign Languages. Nearly 60 teachers, doctoral students and postgraduate students participated in the seminar.

This seminar focused on the topic of “corpus-based multilingualknowledge discovery and management: theory, technology and issues” andclosely followed the academic front.The content is rich and diverse. It has brought many thoughts and inspirations to the teachers and students, further opened up the academic vision and promoted the academic exchange of multilingual corpus in our school, thus inspiring research enthusiasm and academic potential.
