Liu Ximing, Party Secretary of DUFL,extended a warm welcome to the delegation led byToshiaki Koshimura , Chairman of the Board of Trustees from Asia University (in Japan) and introduced to the guests DUFL’s history, discipline development, faculty, international educational exchange and cooperation together with the infrastructure plans on campus on the afternoon of November 27th.
Since the establishment of the ties between the two universities in 1994,remarkableachievements have been witnessedin many fields, including student and faculty exchange, academic exchange and cooperation. Liu expressed his sincere hope to further deepentheexchange and friendship, create international atmosphere in both universities, broaden students’ globalvision and improve their abilities so that the graduates from the universities will be competent tolearn and work in a multi-cultural environment, accelerate cultural exchange between China and Japan.
Mr. Koshimura highly appreciated the construction of DUFLand was pleased that the students inAsia Universitycould pursue further educationon such a beautifulcampus. He said that in order to overcome the negativeimpacts on Japanese education brought by the crisis of aging population and increaseitscompetitiveness amonguniversities toattract more students,Asia University now was making efforts to explore thepossibilities of internationalizationand establishasystem to train required talents for future society.He hoped that the two universities couldwork together to expand exchange channels, innovate cooperation models, promote internationalization, improve comprehensive strength and international competitiveness.
After themeeting, Mr. Koshimuraand his delegation visited the Traditional Chinese Culture Experiencing Classroom, and then attended a seminarwith students from Asia Universitywho are currently studying in DUFL under “The Dream of Asia---Career Development Project”.
