The University Sponsors Seminar on the Belt and Road Initiative and Disciplinary Construction

A seminar on the Belt and Road Initiative and disciplinary construction was held in Dalian University of Foreign Languages on November 29. Experts and scholars from Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai International Studies University and other well-known universities and agencies attended the seminar. DUFL’s Party secretary Liu Ximing and Vice President Jiang Fengchun attended the seminar.

At the opening ceremony, Jiang Fengchun warmly welcomed the experts and scholars, and fully affirmed the positive role of the seminar in building consensus and promoting the development of disciplines. He stressed that it is necessary for all foreign language universities to improve their own development by supplying talents and intelligence for the Belt and Road Initiative. How to give full play to improve the accuracy of the construction was also an important topic of this seminar.

Professor Niu Huayong, Dean of the International Business School of Beijing Foreign Studies University, said that this seminar focused on the Belt and Road Initiative and disciplinary construction of business school. He attached great importance to exploring the development direction of business school, in order to make it a driving force for development.

At the seminar, other 6 experts and scholars delivered the keynote reports from different perspectives of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The deans of business schools from foreign language universities exchanged information on the business discipline’s current situation, subject development, faculty allocation, scientific research level, international cooperation of schools and development plans, which provided practical and feasible prospects. They also carried out active discussions about undergraduate major reforming and postgraduate training.

This seminar provided scholars a platform for communicating and sharing, further promoted cooperation between foreign language and international trade institutions, and reached a cooperation intention in the construction of think tank to support the Belt and Road Initiative, international cooperation in college administration and disciplinary construction.
