Our school’s Chinese Bridge "Cloud" Chinese New Year Online Winter Camp opens
On February 8th, the Chinese Bridge "Cloud" Chinese New Year Online Winter Camp, hosted by the China-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education and jointly organized by the Chinese International Promotion Base of our school and the School of Chinese Studies, officially opened. 537 students from 17 countries including Japan, Vietnam, Brazil, Thailand, and Russia gathered on line to participate in the opening ceremony. They will spend the next week with Chinese in the traditional China year. The principal of our school Liu Hong and the heads of related departments attended the opening ceremony.
Principal Liu Hong paid New Year greetings to the students and their families through the cloud of the Chinese Alliance platform, and wished everyone peace around the world! Principal Liu said in her speech that this winter camp has meticulously designed relevant courses and activities around the theme of "Spring Festival". Students will have an unforgettable journey to experience China's "Chinese New Year". I believe that students participating in the winter camp will definitely do so and gain something. Liu hopes that students can learn more about Chinese culture through this activity, improve their Chinese communicative ability and level, and become a bridge and messenger for world civilization exchanges and mutual learning in the future.
Afterwards, Fu Qiong, Director of the Office of the International Promotion Base for Chinese Language of our school, and Chen Zijiao, Dean of the School of Chinese studies, delivered speeches, respectively sending sincere New Year wishes to the students. Katsumi Nakamura from Okayama, Japan, and Huanglong Li from Hanoi University, Vietnam, spoke as student representatives successively. They expressed their love for Chinese learning and were full of expectations for the upcoming courses.
Dalian University of Foreign Studies has 40 years of deep accumulation in the education of studying in China. The school will continue to uphold the development concept of openness, tolerance, internationalization, and inclusiveness. Under the background of international Chinese education in the new era, it will continue to open the future, maintain integrity and innovate, and welcome with open arms to the Chinese lovers and learners from all over the world.

With the theme of "Traditional Chinese Year", the online winter camp adopts two teaching methods, webcast and video recording, on the premise of strictly complying with the requirements of epidemic prevention and control. Teachers and classmates will explore the colorful Chinese New Year together, experience the authentic Chinese New Year customs, practice Chinese, learn calligraphy, appreciate Peking opera, taste folk music, and "walk around" Dalian to experience the true and rich Chinese New Year. !
