Our school will hold the Confucius Institute Online Council of Okayama Business University in 2021
On the morning of June 16th, our school and Okayama Business University jointly held the 2021 Confucius Institute Online Council of Okayama Business University. Akio Ijiri, President of Okayama Business University and Director General of Confucius Institute attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Li Xiaoni, Director of Confucius Institute in Japan, Li Donghui, Director of Confucius Institute in China, Han Yundong, Deputy Director of Confucius Institute in Japan, and Satoshi Yasai, Director of Confucius Institute Affairs attended the meeting. President Liu Hong attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Officials of Confucius Institute Office and Institute of Japanese Language attended the meeting.
President Liu Hong first inquired about the epidemic prevention and control situation in Okayama and expressed her concern about all the teachers and students of Okayama Business University. She said that the success of all the educational and teaching activities in the Confucius Institute of Okayama Business University under the epidemic situation owed much to the strong support and guidance of the director. Then she introduced to Ijiri the International Chinese Education Practice and Research Base, the first Chinese Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education in China, and the Japanese Research Institute, which was set up in late April this year.
She mentioned, the international Chinese education practice and research base more strengthened research ability, the Confucius institute of okayama business university since its establishment in 2007, accumulated the rich research achievements, it is expected that in the future the Confucius institute teacher can combine the actual work with the international Chinese education practice and research base, Japan research institute jointly explore the scientific research cooperation opportunity, to contribute to international Chinese language education and national and regional research.
In his speech, Chairman Akio Ijiri first expressed his gratitude to our school for its support to Okayama University during the epidemic, and introduced in detail the situation of the epidemic in Okayama region and the teaching status from Okayama University and Confucius Institute. He said that the two universities have held online councils for two consecutive years, and the online councils have become an effective mechanism and means for the two universities to strengthen communication and exchanges. In the future, he is looking forward to conducting research cooperation with the International Chinese Language Education Practice and Research Base of our school and the Japanese Research Institute, so as to facilitate the development of international Chinese language education and ensure the high-quality operation of Confucius Institutes.
At the meeting, Li Xiaoni, Director of the Confucius Institute from Japan, and Li Donghui, Director of the Confucius Institute from China, respectively reported the final account of the Confucius Institute program in 2020 and the budget of the program in 2021 to the Board of Directors. At the end of the meeting, Li Xiaoni, Director of Confucius Institute Japan, reported the personnel adjustment plan of Confucius Institute in the latest year to all the members of the Council. After carefully listening to the report, all members of the Board of Directors put forward suggestions on the feasibility of implementing the budget items and various plans, and unanimously adopted the budget and final accounts by a show of hands.
