Our school participated in the summary meeting of the 4th "Liaoshen Most Beautiful Translator" Foreign Language Speech Contest
On the afternoon of December 20th, the Propaganda Department of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Liaoning Province held the summary meeting of the 4th Foreign Language Speech Contest of "The Most Beautiful Translator of Liaoning-Shen ", and relevant leaders of Liaoning Province, Jilin Province, Heilongjiang Province, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Foreign Affairs System, Angang Group, Liaoning University, Shenyang Normal University, Dalian Foreign Languages University, Northeastern University, and Shenyang University of Chemical Technology attended the meeting. Jiang Fengchun, vice president of our school, also attended the summary meeting, together with the heads of relevant departments and the school.
Shao Yuying, deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, and Luo Li, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Provincial Government, made key speeches at the summary meeting, affirming that the theme of the event was clear, the organization was rigorous, innovative and pragmatic, and asked the relevant departments to further summarize the experience of the event, actively unite with relevant universities and enterprises, and further give play to the joint mechanism of "government, industry, education and research" to build the event into an important brand. At the same time, we will continue to give full play to the role of the coordination mechanism of the foreign affairs system of the three northeastern provinces and one district, and work together with the foreign affairs departments of Jilin Province, Heilongjiang Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to jointly create an important platform for cultivating and training translation talents with unique northeastern characteristics.
After careful organization and preliminary selection, our school finally decided to send a total of 16 students from the Japanese College, the English College, the Russian College and the Institute for Advanced Translation and Interpretation to participate in the finals of the university group, and won 1 special prize, 6 first prizes, 2 second prizes and 6 third prizes. Among them, Wang Song won the special prize in the Russian language group, Xiong Yao and Sun Fangrui won the first prize in the English group, Liu Siyu and Ma Li won the first prize in the Japanese group, and Dou Shengxin and Jing Shiqi won the first prize in the Russian language group.
In the competition, the participants of our school fully demonstrated their good foreign language quality and solid language skills, and demonstrated the responsibility and belief, spiritual outlook and home and country feelings of college students in the new era. As the only public foreign language university in Northeast China, our university will continue to strive to cultivate outstanding foreign language talents and provide intellectual support and talent guarantee for the economic and social development of Liaoning region and the cultivation of high-end diplomatic and foreign affairs talents.
The fourth "The Most Beautiful Translator" co-sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Liaoning Provincial Government, and undertaken by Shenyang Normal University, began in August this year, with the theme of "learning the history of the party, feeling the gratitude of the party, and following the party", based on the reality of foreign work, carrying forward the red culture, highlighting the attitude of endeavor, the competition lasted for three months, and more than 160 people from relevant provincial and municipal organizations, state-owned enterprises and universities participated in the preliminary video selection and online and offline finals.
