On December 13th, the 2021 "Gathering of Excellent Chinese Teachers" an International Chinese Teaching Skills Exchange Activity in Three Provinces and One District in Northeast China, hosted by the Chinese and Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education, and hosted by the Department of Education of Liaoning Province and our school, was held online. The event was strongly supported by the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education, the Jilin Provincial Department of Education, and the Department of Education of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Around the theme of "new ideas, new skills, new practices", 15 universities from three provinces and one district conducted online exchanges.
Liu Tong, director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department of the Department of Education of Liaoning Province, pointed out in her speech that in the face of the challenges of the epidemic, colleges and universities have carefully designed, continuously innovated teaching methods, improved teaching standards, and served learners Chinese diverse backgrounds and diversified teaching modes, which has effectively promoted people-to-people exchanges and people-to-people communication between China and foreign countries.
Jiang Fengchun, Vice President of our university, said that the exchange activities are an important measure for the Language Convergence Center to strengthen the capacity building of international communication, to meet the requirements of enhancing the international status and influence of Chinese, Dalian University of Foreign Chinese will continue to be committed to pooling superior resources to promote the high-quality and sustainable development of regional international Chinese education. Li Dongmei, dean of the School of International Languages of Jilin University, spoke on behalf of the exchange institutions, pointing out that the exchange activities meet the new requirements for teachers in the post-epidemic era, and fully realize the activity goals of promoting growth through exchanges, promoting applications with exchanges, and promoting innovation with exchanges.
The exchange activity attracted 157 teachers and students from 38 universities in three provinces and one district to participate, and the international Chinese teaching teams from 15 universities conducted online on-site teaching demonstrations. The presentation courses include language and culture; teaching methods range from listening and speaking, task method to communication method; teaching mode includes immersive teaching and intensive teaching; teaching forms include online, offline, and online and offline integration.
The teachers of each team deeply analyzed the teaching content and teaching concept, carefully polished the teaching links, and dug deep into the theoretical explanation of the curriculum design, and presented us with a feast of Chinese teaching. Professor Lu Fubo of Nankai University, Professor Zhang Xiaotao of Harbin Normal University, Professor Chen Jinxiang of Inner Mongolia Normal University, and Professor Chen Zijiao of Dalian University of Foreign Languages commented on the course.
The event was simultaneously broadcast online through the platform, and the number of online viewers reached 7,800, and the number of live broadcast hits exceeded 10,000. This exchange activity is a comprehensive display of the international Chinese education level of the three northeastern provinces and one district, and also a training exercise for international Chinese teachers and prospective teachers, which will surely help the international Chinese education of the three provinces and one district get onto a new height.
