The first foreign language discipline development League in the northeast region was inaugurated in our school

On March 25th, the inaugural meeting of the Foreign Language Discipline Development League of the three northeastern provinces and one district and the high-end forum on the construction of first-class foreign language disciplines were held in Dalian University of Foreign Languages. The meeting was held in the form of a network video. Zhang Guolin, member of the party group and deputy director of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education, attended the unveiling ceremony and delivered a speech. 36 universities from Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and other provinces and regions and well-known experts and scholars in the field of foreign language disciplines gathered in the "cloud" to witness the inauguration of the first foreign language discipline development league in Northeast China, and exchange and discuss the construction and development prospects of first-class foreign language disciplines.

The meeting read out the "Letter of the Department of Education of Liaoning Province on Supporting the Construction of the Foreign Language Discipline Development League in The Three Provinces and One District of Northeast China" and the list of the chairman units, co-chair units, governing units and members of the league's organizational framework, and announced the "Charter of the Foreign Language Discipline Development League of the Three Provinces and One District of Northeast China (Draft)" and interpreted it.

At the meeting, Wang Weichen, secretary of the Party Committee of DUFL, delivered a speech, and Liu Hong, chairman of the league and president of DUFL, spoke on behalf of the league. Inner Mongolia University of Technology, Dalian University of Technology, Yanbian University and Heilongjiang University spoke as representatives of the four provinces and regions respectively.

In the high-end forum arranged by the conference, Professor Yang Jincai of Nanjing University, Professor Guo Yingjian of Renmin University of China,Professor Chaming Jian of Shanghai Overseas Chinese University and foreign language experts from universities in three northeastern provinces and one district conducted full exchanges and discussions on the theme of "first-class foreign language discipline construction".

The Foreign Language Discipline Development League of the three northeastern provinces and one district is initiated by Dalian University of Foreign Languages, and is jointly composed of foreign language colleges and universities with advantages in foreign language disciplines in the three northeastern provinces and one district. The league will dock with the national strategy and the economic and social development needs of the northeast region, provide strong talent and discipline support for the revitalization of the northeast in the new era, and promote the high-quality development of regional higher education to a new level.
