President Liu Hong gave a special lecture on pre-job training for Chinese directors of Confucius Institutes and business training for managers of Chinese cooperative institutions in 2022 (the first half of the year)
On May 25th, President Liu Hong was invited by the China International Chinese Education Foundation to give a speech entitled "Confucius Institute's role in enhancing the international exchange and cooperation of colleges and universities" for the pre-job training of the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute and the business training for the managers of the Chinese partner institutions in 2022 (the first half of the year). In the lecture, President Liu Hong first introduced the construction and development of the ten overseas Confucius Institutes of our school to the students, and combined with the management experience and achievements of the Confucius Institutes of our school,she proposed that when the Confucius Institutes are transformed in the new era, the Chinese side should play the main role of Confucius Institutes in running schools. She pointed out that Chinese colleges and universities should seize the development opportunities, based on new requirements, change the operation and management mode of Confucius Institutes, establish the connection mechanism between secondary colleges and the Confucius Institute, the financial system and fund management mechanism, and the decision-making mechanism of the Sino-foreign Council, and adhere to the Confucius Institute. Taking root in the ground, adapting measures to local conditions, improving quality and efficiency, and developing with characteristics, the Confucius Institute will be built into an authoritative platform for Chinese language teaching, a platform for pragmatic cooperation support, a comprehensive platform for people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and a platform for friendly exchanges between countries.
President Liu Hong also emphasized the central role of the Chinese director in the development of the Confucius Institute, and expounded the importance of the Confucius Institute in promoting international exchanges and cooperation among colleges and universities. She said that the Confucius Institute is conducive to improving the level and ability of the school to run international schools. Chinese universities should use the development of the Confucius Institute to promote Chinese and foreign universities to continuously find innovative points for exchanges and cooperation, and to establish regional Chinese and foreign university alliances to achieve scientific research cooperation, teachers and teachers.
