The Simulation Federation Association of our school has achieved another good performance at the 21st Century National Simulation at the United Nations General Assembly of China Daily
From August 2nd to August 5th, the 2022 China Daily 21st Century National Simulation at the United Nations General Assembly was held in Suzhou Taihu International Conference Center, with more than 600 representatives from all over the country participating in the discussions of 14 committees. After fierce competition, Xia Zhizhen student from our school won the Honorary Nomination Award of the Committee of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Feng Xinyi won the Best Journalist Award of the Media Center, and the Simulation of United Nations Association of our school won the Best Delegation Award.
Under the leadership of Xue Xiaopeng, Dean of the School of International Relations, and Sun Yu, the instructor, 11 representatives of Simulation of United Nations Association of our school participated in the discussion of the university group of the conference, 1 student participated in the news reporting work of the media center, and 2 students participated in the conference as academic chairmen and logistics support personnel. In the course of the conference, the delegates adhered to the spirit of "not being in the dream, not being silent", and discussed in depth 17 topics such as sustainable social development, e-commerce, agricultural production and combating human trafficking around the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Through information research, public speaking and teamwork, delegates gained an objective understanding of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and further reflected on how to end extreme poverty, improve global inequality and curb global climate change.
On the morning of August 3, Dean Xue Xiaopeng was invited to participate in the "21st Century Youth Public Diplomacy Forum" opened by the conference, and spoke on related topics as a guest of the roundtable forum. She believes that young people are dynamic and creative. Compared with adults, communication between young people is frank and straightforward. Therefore, international communication activities among young people in various countries are an important channel for public diplomacy.
Founded in September 2007, the School Simulation of United Nations Association is a non-profit student organization under the leadership of the Youth League Committee and the School of International Relations, and one of the oldest and largest student societies in our school. Dawai Simulation of the United Nations Association has been rated as one of the "Top Ten Societies" in Dalian, and has also been rated as a "Five-Star Society" in the school for many times. In recent years, with the strong support of the Youth League Committee of the University and relying on the "High-level International Talent Training Project" of our school, the organizational scale and academic level of the LM Association have been further improved, and it has repeatedly won awards in various MUN activities.
