Students from our School of Asian and African Languages won the 5th That's Arab Web Fiction Translation Competition 2022
Recently, the 5th That's Arab Online Novel Translation Competition 2022, co-sponsored by Wuzhou Communication Publishing House and the Arabic Literature Research Branch of the China Foreign Literature Society, and co-organized by Beijing Foreign Chinese University, came to an end. After the strict evaluation and scoring of the jury group and the real and effective online voting, Wang Chenxin, a 2021 graduate student majoring in Arabic Language and Literature of the School of Asian and African Languages of our university, won the first prize, Zhao Danning, a graduate student of the class of 2020, won the second prize, Ma Cuihan, a graduate student of the class of 2021, won the winner's award, and Dalian University of Foreign Chinese won the best organization award of the competition.
The competition is an annual national translation competition, which aims to promote the "Belt and Road" to go deeper and more concrete, strengthen china's ties and cooperation with Arab countries, build international communication capacity, cultivate high-quality Arabic translation talents, and tell the Chinese story to the world more accurately and vividly. The contest started in early July 2022 and was announced in September after preliminary and final ratings and online voting. (Chen Rupei)
