On the morning of October 14th, our school held a pre-trip pep meeting for Confucius Institute staff. President Liu Hong attended the meeting and delivered a pep speech. Four Chinese directors, public teachers and relevant staff from the Confucius Institute Office who will go to our 3 Confucius Institutes in 2022 attended the meeting.
In her speech, Principal Liu Hong first expressed her gratitude to the teachers on behalf of the school. She pointed out that teachers who resolutely chose to take overseas posts despite the global epidemic are the most courageous warriors. She stressed that teachers' personal safety is the top priority above all else, and she urged teachers to do a good job of protection and safety.
When talking about the work after the appointment, President Liu Hong put forward specific requirements for the Chinese deans and overseas teachers based on the actual situation of Confucius institutes: First, I hope you can give full play to your own professional advantages, further support the construction of Confucius Institutes, in-depth study of the national "Chinese Language Level Standards for International Chinese Education", and promote the formulation and promulgation of international Chinese education standards in the host countries.
Second, in the new era of improving the quality and efficiency of international Chinese education, transformation and upgrading, Chinese deans and teachers should take this opportunity to strengthen the management of overseas education and teaching, better play the main role of Chinese universities, so as to adapt to the new changes and keep pace with the new era; Third, we should strengthen the localization research, actively cooperate with local teachers to develop local textbooks, and achieve a breakthrough in the construction of informationized curriculum; Fourth, overseas Confucius Institutes should govern their institutes according to law and carry out activities in strict accordance with the laws of their host countries. Fifth, efforts should be made to improve the quality of Confucius Institutes and prepare for the upcoming evaluation of Confucius Institutes.

It is reported that in the second half of 2022, according to the development of the epidemic and the teaching demand of Confucius Institutes, we will send 5 teachers to serve as the Chinese director and Chinese teachers in our Confucius Institutes in Portugal, Armenia, Italy and Colombia.
