On the afternoon of September 28, President Liu Hong attended the online president forum of "The 20th Anniversary of the Opening of the Sino-Japanese 2+2 Co-Training Undergraduate Program" hosted by Hokuridku University in Japan and delivered a speech at the forum. Leaders of International Exchange and Cooperation Department, Japanese Language Institute and Software School/Big Data Industry College of our University attended the forum.
On behalf of the 2 + 2 program students ,President Liu Hong thank ed all the teachers for their long hard work in her speech and introduced our school 's achievements over the past twenty years in the discipline construction, scientific research and academic exchanges, Japanese talent training and education for students studying abroad and campus hardware and software facilities construction .President Liu said that the two universities have jointly trained more than 600 international talents with professional knowledge, foreign language ability and international vision through the "2+2" joint undergraduate training program.
The practice has proved that the "2+2" joint undergraduate training program has provided talent support and intellectual guarantee for the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of politics, economy, trade and culture, and has become a successful case of talent training between China and Japan. In the current century, the pandemic combined with century-old changes poses challenges and opportunities for China-Japan relations. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations. It is all the more important for Chinese and Japanese universities to shoulder greater responsibilities and play a more important role in promoting the great cause of lasting friendship between China and Japan in the new era. president Liu also hopes to see hand in hand development between universities for both countries, mutual learning, by deepening project cooperation, strengthening the cultivation of talents, relying on the network advantage to build the education platform, strengthen academic exchanges, promote the scientific research cooperation, strengthen cultural exchanges and cultivate young generation, to colleges and universities become the main force of public diplomacy between the two countries, mutual injected more fresh energy to the friendship between the two countries.
In his speech, the President of Hokuru University, Tsutomu Ogura, expressed his gratitude to the Chinese partner universities for their efforts and contributions to the project development over the past 20 years. He said that a total of 2,529 Chinese students have participated in the China-Japan 2+2 Joint undergraduate Program since it was launched in 2002, and the graduates have made satisfactory achievements in the fields of finance, economy, trade and culture between the two countries. In order to further improve the level of talent training, Hokuriku University on the original basis, with Kanazawa University, Toyama University, Ritsumeikan University, Hokuriku Advanced Institute of Science and Technology University and other universities to carry out the "2+2+2" joint training program, in order to train more high-level talents to meet the needs of various fields for China and Japan.
Our University and Hoku University established a friendly exchange and cooperation relationship in 2001, and as the first Chinese university to participate in the project cooperation of "China-Japan 2+2 Joint Undergraduate Education Program". In the past 20 years, the two universities have made active exploration in many fields, such as personnel training, faculty construction and academic exchanges, and achieved fruitful cooperation results.
