Hosted by Dalian University of Foreign Languages, co-organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Dalian and supported by the Consular Office of the Republic of Korea in Dalian, In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, the Cloud Concert of China-South Korea Youth Exchange sponsored by the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, the League Committee, the International Arts College and the Korean Language College of Dalian University of Foreign Languages and the closing ceremony of the 7th International Education Exchange Month of Dalian University of Foreign Languages was held in our school.
Hu Bingxia, Vice President of Dalian People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Woo Jung-eun, Cultural Consul of the Consular Office of the Republic of Korea in Dalian, Hong Sung-tae, President of Sangmyung University of Korea, Kim Hee-cheol, director of Korea Choir, Liu Hong, Vice President of our University, Chang Junyue attended the concert. More than 300 Chinese and Korean teachers and students from Yonsei University, Sangmyung University, Confucius Institute of Incheon University and Dalian University of Foreign Languages gathered together and enjoyed a music feast.
President Liu Hong said in her opening speech that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and South Korea, as well as the year of cultural exchanges between China and South Korea. She hoped that the universities of China and South Korea could enhance understanding and mutual trust through cultural exchanges, strengthen consensus through cultural ties, jointly cement the cultural foundation of China-South Korea friendly exchanges and make contributions to the new development of Asia and human civilization.
Consul Woo Jung-eun said that the cloud-based cultural experience program for college students is an important part of the "people-to-people exchange program" between China and South Korea, which has been implemented since 2013. She hoped that the youth of the two countries could better promote the development of cultural exchanges between China and South Korea through the implementation of the program.
In the following concert, teachers and students from the School of International Arts and the Magnolia Choir, together with Korean musicians, presented songs including "Jasmine Arirang", "Festival Song", "Beautiful Kumgang Mountain", "Years of Mother", "Arirang - Lift Your Head", "I Love You, China", The instrumental performance of "Sunset Flute and Drum", "Love", "Knowing whether or not", "Flower and Moon night in Spring", "One Flower and One World" included a magnificent and wonderful art feast, which brought a successful end to the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, China-South Korea cultural exchange program and the seventh International Educational Exchange Month series activities.
