The China-South Korea Youth Friendship Exchange Meeting, co-hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Provincial People's Government and the Korea-China Exchange Association of the Republic of Korea, was held via video link on Dec 29. Former ROK Prime Minister Li Shoucheng sent a congratulatory letter for the event, and Chinese Ambassador to ROK Xing Haiming attended the event by video and delivered a speech. Luo Li, Director of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and President of the Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Luo Wenbo, Deputy director of the Provincial Education Department, Kang Yi, Deputy director of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Gao Aihua, Grade One inspector of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Li Chengzhi, Vice President of the Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Kim Yong-deok, Vice President of the Korea-China Exchange Association of the Republic of Korea, Park Jae-Jin and representatives of young students from both countries attended the activity online. Prof. Liu Hong, President of the University, was invited to attend the online exchange and delivered a speech.
Former Prime Minister Lee Soo-sung said in his congratulatory letter that the ROK and China have maintained friendly relations since ancient times. Over the past 30 years, the young people of our two countries have built a solid friendship and trust based on thousands of years of friendly exchanges. It is hoped that the young people of the two countries will carry out closer interaction and cooperation in the future and pass on the friendly relations between the two countries, especially the friendship between the two peoples, from generation to generation.
Ambassador Xing said in his video address that China and the ROK are close neighbors with a long history of friendship. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the ROK, and bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields usher in new opportunities to upgrade the quality. It is hoped that the young people will uphold the original aspiration of the establishment of diplomatic ties and take concrete actions to contribute their youth and wisdom to the brilliant development of China-ROK relations in the next 30 years.
President Liu Hong said in her speech that the cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and South Korea over thousands of years have not only forged profound friendship between the two peoples, but also made key contributions to the development of Asian civilization. China-rok relations, which have enjoyed friendly exchanges for 30 years, have entered a new stage. We look forward to building an Asia-Pacific community with a shared future in this new stage and creating new achievements in Asia-Pacific cooperation and exchanges. Dalian University of Foreign Languages will continue to expand exchanges and cooperation with South Korean universities, carry out exchanges between Chinese and South Korean youth and studies on China-South Korea issues, innovate the construction of curriculum system, build a brand of people-to-people exchange, and contribute to the deeper exchanges and cooperation between China and South Korea.
