The second East Asian Cultural Exchange and Mutual Learning - Dalian Forum held in our university


On October 14th, the second East Asian Cultural Exchange and Mutual Learning - Dalian Forum was held in our university. This forum is a high-level international academic conference held for China, Japan and South Korea, aiming to enhance the exchange and cooperation of cultural tourism in East Asia, learn from the experience of the construction of East Asian cultural capital, and contribute academic wisdom and strength to the construction of Dalian as the "East Asian Cultural Capital".








The forum was hosted by Dalian Culture and Tourism Bureau, Dalian University of Foreign Languages, and East Asian Culture Research Center, School of Japanese Language and Institute of Japanese Studies, Dalian University of Foreign Languages. Zhang Xilong, former Deputy director and first-class inspector of the International Exchange and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, Ma Tao, Director of Dalian Culture and Tourism Bureau, and Liu Hong, President of Dalian University of Foreign Languages attended the opening ceremony. Relevant leaders, experts, scholars, young teachers and students from Dalian Culture and Tourism Bureau, relevant universities and research institutions of China, Japan and South Korea attended the meeting online and offline.


President Liu Hong pointed out in her speech that since ancient times, China, Japan and the ROK have been as close as lips and teeth to each other in geographical environment, time-honored exchanges and ties, and the cultural foundation of the three countries, which have jointly composed and created a splendid cultural landscape in East Asia. Director Zhang Xilong pointed out that for thousands of years, the continuous exchanges and mutual learning among the three civilizations have promoted the prosperity and development of East Asia and laid an important foundation for mutual learning among East Asian civilizations in the new era. Director Ma Tao pointed out that the special geographical location of Dalian determines that it is destined to be a station for transmitting East Asian culture and a corridor for recording East Asian historical exchanges. In recent years, Dalian has cooperated with Japan and South Korea in economic and cultural fields.


This forum is an academic event for cultural exchanges and mutual learning in East Asia. Guests from China, Japan and the ROK have gathered here to renew friendship, discuss development and discuss the future, and paint a beautiful picture of equality, mutual trust, inclusiveness and mutual learning among East Asian civilizations. It is hoped that the East Asia Cultural Exchange and Mutual Learning Academic Forum will develop into an important fulcrum to leverage the high-quality development of Dalian's cultural and tourism integration, help boost the urban pattern, deepen exchanges and cooperation with Japan and South Korea's cultural capitals, shape the image of a diverse, open and inclusive international city, and contribute wisdom and solutions to promoting the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China!
