The golden autumn October is the harvest season, and the Russian Language College of our school has harvested a heavy medal. Chen Fangbo, a graduate student of our school majoring in interpretation from the grade of 2022, won the first prize in the 35th Han Suyin International Translation Competition and the first prize in the Chinese-Russian Translation category.

The competition received a total of 27,655 two-way translations in 10 languages. The Chinese-Russian Translation group awarded 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 12 excellence awards. The Russian Language College attaches great importance to all kinds of major competitions of this specialty, and the practice teaching and research department is specially responsible for the organization of various competitions. After the official release of the competition, the college immediately organized students to actively participate in the competition. In the end, Chen Fangbo won the first prize in the Chinese-Russian translation category, and Zhang Xueling, a 2021 academic graduate, won the excelence award for Chinese-Russian translation category.

The achievement of this competition, on the one hand, shows determination of the "pursuit of excellence" of the students of the Russian Language College of Dalian University of Foreign Languages, on the other hand, also fully reflects the Russian Language College has been adhering to the "learning to apply" foreign language and translation teaching concept. It will further stimulate the students' interest in Russian learning and enthusiasm for participating in the translation competition, laying a solid foundation for translation talents to tell Chinese stories well and spread Chinese voices well.
