The School of Languages and Languages of Asia and Africa invited Mr. Wu Bingfa to give a lecture on the International Exchange Month with the theme of "The Customs and Habits You Should Know When Going to Thailand"


In order to enhance students' understanding of Thai culture, the School of Languages and Languages of Asia and Africa held a talk on the theme of "What You Should Know when Going to Thailand" in the afternoon of 30 October at the Li Xue Building. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Wu Bingfa, a foreign teacher specializing in Thai. Li Shufang, director of the Teaching and Research Office of Thai Language Major, Zhang Jialin, foreign teacher of Thai language major Chen Bailu, and all students of Thai language major in 2022 attended the lecture.





Teacher Wu Bingfa introduced the general situation of Thailand to the students from the aspects of Thailand, and briefly explained the history of Thailand to the students with the reference of Thai currency. He also interpreted the etiquette culture of Thailand by means of short videos, introduced the famous Songkran Festival and Loy Krathong Festival in detail to the students, and gave a brief description of other Thai festivals. In the class, Teacher Wu Bingfa showed the students common Thai expressions and common distress calls. This will provide substantial help for the future study and life of students in Thailand.


In this lecture, Teacher Wu Bingfa used vivid and interesting case studies to make abstract concepts more understandable. Teacher Wu Bingfa pays special attention to the interaction with students and often encourages students to ask questions, which provides great help for the future study and life of students majoring in Thai.
