On January 3, Dalian University of Foreign Languages and Dalian Peking Opera Theatre signed an agreement of intention to cooperate in Dalian Hongji Grand Stage. Liu Hong, President of our school, and Yang Chi, president of Dalian Peking Theatre, signed the agreement of intention for cooperation and co-construction on behalf of both parties.
President Yang Chi made a detailed introduction on the development history, performance system and artistic characteristics of Peking Opera, as well as the architectural style and historical changes of Hongji Grand Stage. Recalling the years of exchanges, cooperation and profound friendship between Dalian Peking Opera Theatre and the University, he said that he is eager to continue to carry out practical cooperation with the university, so that the Peking Opera art can be more widely introduced to the campus, and better promote the Chinese culture to go abroad together with the teachers and students of the university.
President Liu Hong has carried out exchanges in several aspects, such as the introduction of Peking Opera art into campus, overseas Confucius Institute tour, international Chinese education practice base, multilingual inheritance of Peking Opera art, the simultaneous development of five education represented by Peking Opera as art aesthetics, and moral cultivation. She stressed that the cooperation between our university and Dalian Peking Opera Theater shoulders the mission of carrying forward the artistic charm of Peking Opera and spreading excellent traditional Chinese culture. This year coincides with the opening year of Dalian's brand construction as the "East Asian Cultural Capital". She hoped that the cooperation with Dalian Peking Opera Theater will bear fruit again and become an important platform for cultural inheritance and innovation and promoting cultural exchanges and mutual learning. Dalian Peking Opera Theatre is a provincial key Peking Opera troupe, an important performing group of Peking Opera art, with profound artistic heritage and rich performance experience.
