Recently, the 8th National High-level Forum on Foreign Language Education Reform and Development of Higher Education Institutions with the theme of "What is Foreign Language Construction?" was held in Beijing. Leaders of the Ministry of Education, members of the Education Advisory Committee and more than 2,000 foreign language education experts and scholars gathered to attend the forum, and more than 200,000 teachers participated in the cloud.
Liu Hong, deputy Director of the Foreign Language Teaching Reference Committee of the Ministry of Education, Chairman of the Russian Language Teaching Reference Committee and President of our school, Cong Mingcai, deputy secretary of our school, Zhang Guoqiang, member of the non-common Language Teaching Reference Committee of the Ministry of Education and vice president of our school, as well as members of the Teaching Reference Committee and experts of our school attended the meeting.
Co-sponsored by Beijing Foreign Studies University, the Steering Committee for the Teaching of Foreign Languages and Literature in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, the Guidance Committee for College Foreign Language Teaching in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education and the Foreign Language Teaching Research Branch of the Chinese Association of Higher Education, the Forum includes 5 keynote reports, 3 forums of the Education Advisory Committee, 10 special forums, and 3 special activities. The reform and development of college foreign language education are discussed extensively and deeply from several angles.
In the special forum, the scholars of our university focused on the important issues of higher foreign language education, such as artificial intelligence and foreign language discipline construction, curriculum construction and teaching innovation, multilingual talent training model innovation, digital intelligence empowerment and teaching innovation, and exchanged characteristic practices and achievements with foreign language education experts and first-line foreign language teachers from all over the country, and jointly explored new ways to innovate foreign language talent training.
Focusing on the forefront of the reform and development of foreign language education in Chinese institutions of higher learning, this Forum aims to comprehensively improve the quality of independent training of foreign language talents and strengthen the construction of foreign language education knowledge system, which has important guiding significance for the teaching reform and professional construction of foreign language universities, and promote higher foreign language education to play a new role and contribute new strength in the construction of a strong country. It shows the determination and confidence that China's higher foreign language education has a lot to do in the construction of a powerful country.
