On the afternoon of March 8, the opening ceremony and commendation meeting for international students of the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year was held in the lecture hall of the Library. The Party and government leaders of Han College, the director of international student class and new and old international students attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Cao Bo, Vice President of Han College.

A video opened the prelude to the ceremony. The video reviewed the special activities of international students and the wonderful moments of campus life. It also captured the precious pictures at the beginning of the semester, and recorded the scene of new students carrying bags and entering the campus with hopes.

Liang Bo, vice president of Han College, read out the list of winners of the comprehensive scholarship for international students and the list of outstanding class teachers in the last academic year, and Liu Xin, deputy secretary of the General Party Branch, issued certificates of honor to the winning students and teachers.

Ouyang Finn from Australia spoke on behalf of the new students. In his speech, he reviewed his own experience of learning Chinese, once he thought that Chinese is an unknown lock, going to China can find the key to open it, after coming to China, he realized that Chinese itself is the key to open the multi-cultural world, to master Chinese, you can enjoy the rich and colorful world, enjoy the beautiful culture.

After the ceremony, police officers Zhao Dongzhe and Li Heming from the Entry-Exit Administration Bureau of Dalian Public Security Bureau explained the laws and regulations of residence in Dalian for international students, and conducted visa application for freshmen.
