On December 23rd, the 20th anniversary celebration of the establishment of Dalian French Alliance was held in Dalian. French Ambassador to China Bai Yutang, French Consul General in Shenyang Luo Yirui, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dalian University of Foreign Languages Wang Weichen, Secretary of the Party Committee of Liaoning Normal University Liu Hong, Vice President of our university Liu Fengguang, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Dalian Municipal People's Government Liu Jianjun, Vice President of Dalian Council for the Promotion of International Trade Hong Bo, and President of Dalian French League Emmanuel Girodon attended the celebration event.

Wang Weichen stated in his speech that the Dalian French Alliance has been actively committed to cultural exchange and mutual learning since its establishment at Dalian University of Foreign Languages through various forms of cultural activities, it continuously expands the multi field exchanges and cooperation between Liaoning Province, Dalian City, and French speaking countries and regions. At the same time, Dalian French League has greatly promoted the internationalization of Dalian University of Foreign Languages, providing a broader cultural exchange platform for French language teachers and students, actively promoting the opening up of Liaoning's education to the outside world and international cooperation and exchange. In the future, it will play a greater role in cultural exchange, open sharing, and language interoperability.

During the celebration, Baiyutang stated that 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, as well as the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Dalian French Language Alliance. The Dalian French Alliance has promoted close communication between French and Chinese speakers, played an important role in promoting French and French culture, and also demonstrated the profound and solid cultural and diplomatic relations between France and China. This celebration is also a good opportunity to look forward to the future development of the French Union. We hope that both China and France can continue to strengthen cultural ties and work together to ensure that cultural and linguistic exchanges between the two countries are more rich and dynamic.

As the world's largest French language and cultural promotion organization, the French Alliance plays an important role in promoting exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations. In China, the history of the French speaking Alliance can be traced back to the early 20th century, with branch offices established in Beijing and Shanghai; In 2004, Dalian French Alliance settled at Dalian University of Foreign Languages.
