The China Cultural Exhibition Hall for International Chinese Language Education of Dalian University of Foreign Languages Officially Put into Use

On November 26, the China Cultural Exhibition Hall for International Chinese Language Education of Dalian University of Foreign Languages was officially put into use. Witnessing this significant moment were Wang Yong, Director of the Sinology Research Department of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under the Ministry of Education; Kong Feng, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education; Yang Jie, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Education; Wu Ying, Secretary-General of the Dalian University Federation; as well as Wang Weichen, Secretary of the University Party Committee; Cong Mingcai, President; Su Jian, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee; Zhang Xiaochen, Secretary of the University Discipline Inspection Commission; Liu Fengguang and Zhao Yong, Vice Presidents; Li Yan, Zhang Jiao, Li Hui and Yang Hui, Members of the University Party Standing Committee; principals of relevant functional departments and secondary colleges; representatives of former leaders of the School of Chinese Studies; retired faculty and staff; and representatives of Chinese and international teachers and students. The event was hosted by Vice President Liu Fengguang.








Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the founding of the School of Chinese Studies, President Cong Mingcai reviewed the school’s 40-year development journey. He affirmed the school’s role as a key implementer of the university’s internationalization strategy and its solid contributions to the overall development of the university and the work of foreign educational exchanges in Liaoning Province and even across the country. He stated that the launch of the China Cultural Exhibition Hall provides a new carrier for the university’s teaching practice and cultural education initiatives. The university will stay true to its original aspiration and mission, live up to the trust of the times, and forge ahead unremittingly as always in serving the national strategy, promoting cultural mutual learning, improving the level of international Chinese language education and enhancing the university’s international influence.


Wang Yong fully recognized the university’s sustained efforts and remarkable achievements in nurturing talents in the field of international Chinese language education. Kong Feng pointed out that the 40-year development course of the School of Chinese Studies vividly illustrates the deepening and expansion of Liaoning’s educational opening-up. Yang Jie spoke highly of the university’s achievements in promoting the in-depth integration of Chinese language teaching and city image communication.


At the recent World Chinese Language Conference, President Xi Jinping replied to young sinologists, profoundly expounding on the scientific connotation and spiritual essence of the Chinese language and sinology, which provides a scientific guideline for carrying out international Chinese language education in the new era. After 40 years of forging ahead with determination, the university embarks on a new journey in the new era. Looking ahead, the university will continue to implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s reply, take the China Cultural Exhibition Hall as a new platform for cultural mutual learning between China and foreign countries, further promote interdisciplinary integration and innovation, make new achievements in talent cultivation, cultural communication and international exchanges, and make new contributions to building Liaoning into a province with strong education and a hub for opening-up and cooperation in Northeast Asia.
