As April unfolds its blooming beauty, scholarly fragrance permeates the campus. On the occasion of the 31st World Book Day, to foster a strong academic atmosphere and promote humanistic reading and ideological exchanges, the event Library Lecture Hall · Professor Tea Time, jointly hosted by the Library and Student Affairs Office of Dalian University of Foreign Languages, was warmly launched at the Subculture Research Center on the first floor of the Library on the afternoon of April 23.



This session specially invited Professor Chen Diqiang from the School of Chinese Language and Literature as the keynote speaker. With the theme Worldly Warmth in an Era of Great Transformation: Reading Wang Zengqi, he delivered a cultural feast blending profound academic insights and genuine everyday warmth for teachers and students present.
At the beginning of the event, Associate Professor Wang Binsheng, instructor of the One-Stop Student Service Community, elaborated on the original intention of launching this brand activity. He stressed that the platform aims to break the boundaries of traditional classrooms and build an academic space for equal communication between teachers and students. He encouraged students to perceive the richness of life through reading and elevate their humanistic attainments via contemplation amid busy studies. Afterwards, Zhang Lin, Deputy Librarian of the University Library, gave a detailed introduction to Professor Chen Diqiang and unveiled the lecture theme, livening up the relaxed and harmonious on-site atmosphere.
During the keynote sharing session, starting with the famous line Ordinary worldly warmth comforts ordinary people most, Professor Chen led teachers and students into Wang Zengqi’s literary world. Starting with delicate descriptions of food in Wang’s works, he vividly depicted the vivid life scenes full of mortal charm and sincere emotions portrayed by the renowned writer.
Centering on literature, this event guided teachers and students to feel the warmth of the times through reading and comprehend cultural connotations through reflection.
