On the morning of March 19, Xu Qinggang, Chairman of Lushunkou District Association for Science and Technology, Vice Chairman Zhang Chunhua, Director of the Science Popularization Department Li Zhongwei and their entourage visited our university for an investigation and discussion. Li Chunji, Director of the Research Affairs Office, Deputy Directors Liu Jiaochen and Li Duofei, Associate Professor Wang Binsheng from the College Students’ Online Ideological and Political Education Center and other relevant personnel attended the symposium.
At the meeting, Director Li Chunji first gave an overview of the university, focusing on remarkable achievements made in recent years in scientific research innovation, collaborative talent training, university-local cooperation, academic ethics development, as well as serving national strategic needs and local economic and social development. She illustrated the university’s vital role as a regional talent hub and innovation driver.
Chairman Xu Qinggang fully affirmed the university’s accomplishments in scientific research innovation and talent cultivation. He noted that this visit serves as an important move to strengthen ties between the district science association and universities, advance the implementation of the strategy of invigorating China through science and education, and deepen in-depth integration between universities and local authorities.
This symposium marks a new phase of cooperation between our university and Lushunkou District Association for Science and Technology. The two sides have initially established a mechanism for sharing science popularization resources, integrating into the comprehensive social science popularization system to achieve win-win results and mutual empowerment. Looking ahead, both sides plan to carry out in-depth cooperation in the following aspects:First, enrich the talent pool of science popularization lecturers in Lushunkou District, efficiently connect high-quality on-campus science popularization resources with local practical demands, and expand the coverage and utilization efficiency of science popularization resources.Second, explore new ways to integrate academic ethics development with cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality and augmented reality to innovate the education of the spirit of scientists. By building immersive and interactive virtual laboratories and historical scenes, it enables teachers, students and the public to communicate with scientific predecessors, greatly enhancing the appeal and influence of science popularization education.Third, fully advance the construction of smart science popularization. By delivering targeted popular science content, the two sides will inject digital and intelligent momentum into the construction of Popular Science Lushun, and jointly compose a new chapter for high-quality development of science popularization
