On June 26, the 2026 National Academic Forum for Young Scholars on Languages and Cultures under the Belt and Road Initiative was held at our university. Co-sponsored by Dalian University of Foreign Languages and Liaoning Center for Foreign Language Graduate Innovation and Academic Exchange, the forum was jointly undertaken by the Graduate School, the University Base for Discipline Innovation and Talent Introduction of Higher Education Institutions (the 111 Base) and the School of Chinese Language. Centered on the theme Uphold Fundamentals While Pursuing Innovation, Empowerment via Digital Intelligence, and Interdisciplinary Integration, the forum aims to build a platform for young scholars nationwide to exchange academic ideas.

Professor Liu Fengguang, Member of the University Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice President, and Yang Hui, Member of the University Party Committee Standing Committee and Director of the Publicity Department, attended the forum, alongside distinguished professors Zhao Shuju from Wuhan University and Peng Qinglong from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Also present were heads of relevant functional departments and graduate training units, newly appointed graduate supervisors, as well as over 300 teachers and students from universities at home and abroad.
Taking this forum as a new starting point, the university will fully implement the Outline for Building a Strong Country in Education (2024–2035) and the Outline for Building Liaoning into a Province with Strong Education. Focusing on major national and regional strategic development demands, the university will deepen the integration of artificial intelligence and graduate education, accelerate the formation of a new pattern of application-oriented graduate education featuring Northeast Asian characteristics, and contribute Dalian University of Foreign Languages’ wisdom and strength to building a strong country and a strong province in education.
