Recently, the national finals of the 2026 (19th) China Collegiate Computing Contest came to a successful conclusion. Our university's participating teams performed excellently, achieving breakthroughs at both the national and provincial levels: they won a total of 6 national awards (1 second prize and 5 third prizes) and 29 provincial awards (5 first prizes, 12 second prizes, and 12 third prizes). Both the level and the total number of awards set a new record for the university.

The award-winning works from this year's contest covered multiple popular tracks, including artificial intelligence applications, big data applications, software application and development, Internet of Things applications, and information visualization design, fully reflecting the distinctive feature of integrating interdisciplinary studies with technological innovation. Among them, the national second-prize work focused on collaborative analysis of multimodal data in bridge surface defect detection scenarios, winning high recognition from the judges for its solid algorithm design and practical value. Other award-winning works covered directions such as smart agriculture, intelligent education assistance systems, digital preservation of cultural heritage, and AI-empowered artistic creation, combining frontier technological exploration with practice-oriented applications that address social needs. The diverse selection of topics not only showcased our students' solid professional foundation and keen problem awareness, but also reflected the university's notable achievements in computer science teaching reform and the cultivation of innovative talents.

The China Collegiate Computing Contest was founded in 2008 by the Ministry of Education's computer-related teaching guidance committees and is one of the most influential national authoritative competitions in China's computer field. Since this year's contest started in March 2026, the university has carefully coordinated event planning, competition scheduling, and work review, and organized professional faculty to provide whole-process tracking guidance to participating teams, drawing widespread attention and an active response from faculty and students across the university.

Our university has always upheld the educational philosophy of “promoting learning through competitions, promoting teaching through competitions, and promoting innovation through competitions,” actively encouraging students to participate in high-level discipline competitions. By building diverse practical platforms and strengthening industry-education integration for collaborative education, the university comprehensively enhances students' innovative thinking, engineering practice, and teamwork abilities. Looking ahead, the university will continue to deepen the “AI+” education and teaching reform, further optimize the competition cultivation mechanism, and continuously improve the quality of talent development, striving to scale new heights and achieve greater results on higher-level stages.
